I have been reading a book about CEO's in Hawaii and I noticed a few things that most of them have in common. They started out in management training, they stayed with the same company for more than 20 years, they write down their goals, they give back to the community, and they all have mentors.

When I was in the Navy, we started a mentoring program, it is a good way to ensure success in any mission. A mentor is basically a person who you look up to and want to become more like. Your mentor can be anyone, you don't have to actually know them personally, it is good to have a personal mentor that you actually talk to on a regular basis.
